8.8.2. Forty Percent (40%) 15 Rule
8.5.2.1. In order to satisfy the 40%/15 rule, a contestant must comply with the following:
1.) If the contestant’s principal place of residence is within her designated circuit, said contestant must compete in either 40% of the rodeos within that circuit (based on the total number of rodeos during the previous rodeo year which held the particular event for which the contestant seeks to become a CR contestant) or 15 rodeos with that event within the circuit, whichever is less or;
2.) If the contestant’s principal place of residence is not within her designated circuit, said contestant must compete in either 40% of the rodeos within the circuit (based on the total number of rodeos during the previous year which held the particular event for which the contestant seeks to become a CR contestant) or 15 rodeos with that event within the circuit, whichever is greater (provided that, if there are less that 15 rodeos with a particular event in a circuit during a rodeo year a nonresident must satisfy this rule if she competes in 100% of the rodeos with that particular event in the circuit during that rodeo year).

March 20 , 2011. Check out www.montanawpra.com for all the latest happenings in Montana. WAY to Go Circuit Ladies. Carmel Wright, Shelby Blixt, Julie Lenoir, Darae Larson, Morgan Knudsen all took a piece of the pie in the Barrel Race at the Northern Rodeo Association Finals, while Cally Goyins and Cadee Tew shined in the Breakaway. Great job to all our MT Circuit members.

Now that Spring has Sprung... Yippee!!! The MT Circuit's first sanctioned event of the Spring is the UBRC March 19th at Miller's Horse Palace.

The 2011 WPRA Standings has the Rodeos vs co-sanctioned events separated which will be easier for everyone to keep track of their earnings.

WPRA Election: Everyone should either have your ballot or get them this weekend. If you don't receive them by Tues the 22nd be sure on contact the office.

YOUR Vote is so very Important. This is the First time in WPRA history all permit and card holders in MT have been allowed to vote.

The last MT Circuit Director election was one by 1 Vote with 80% of eligible card holding members voting. A recent past WPRA presidential election was won by 7 votes. YOUR vote does count. The ballots need to be mailed or faxed in to the auditors office by April 1st.

MONTANA WPRA stand tall and let your VOTE count...

"Perseverance is not a long race; but it is many short races one after another." Walter Elliott.

Enjoy this beautiful Spring!!! Lana

January 18, 2011. IMPORTANT INFORMATION About Rodeo Co-approvals! Unlike the PRCA, co-approved rodeos DO NOT count in your circuit rodeo count. They have not and do not. Co-approval rodeo money does count toward your circuit rodeo money. Rodeos up to $5000 added money (the $5,000 is an increase over prior years) may be co-approved with neighboring circuits if the circuit's boundary is within 150 miles.

These rules were added to help the smaller rodeos draw contestants. The WPRA feels you should support your own circuit if you are going to compete at your finals. (A percentage of payoff is held back to go into the circuit finals money)

Please support your circuit and the rodeos it co-approves.

January 18, 2011. Happy New Year to each and everyone!! As we head into the New Season, the MT WPRA would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Committees and Sponsors for a Wonderful 2010 season. The MT WPRA members have been great and it makes one very proud to be able to represent such a fine group of women.

As the Circuit Finals approaches, we would like to compliment our veterans Lindsay Karp, Theresa Walter, Rayna Rice, Donna Johnson, Shelly Anzick, Annie Novotny, Julie Lenior, and Twyla Vaira and our rookie qualifiers Carmel Wright, Deena Moeykens, Morgan Knudsen, and Katie Rasmussen. The MT WPRA barrel racers will be well represented. Great Job ladies!!.

The MT WPRA Rookie of the Year is Bailee Novotny Stovall. She will be awarded a beautiful Montana Silversmith Buckle sponsored by Basin State Bank of Stanford.

HORSE of the YEAR, Action for Cash RB, is owned and ridden by Rayna Rice. Three Forks Saddlery Sponsors a Beautiful Headstall. Buster and Helen Brown sponsor a Beautiful Breastcollar.

The Sportsmanship award went to Katie Rasmussen. Hill Quarter Horses, John and Lois awarded a Montana Silversmith Barrel Racing Bronze.

The WPRA nominations and elections are fast approaching, be sure and get involved and VOTE. This is your organization. ...I am running for Vice President as a write-in and would appreciate your support.
"Courage is when you stare your worst fear or toughest obstacle in the face and beat it"

Happy New Year!! Lana
