Fort Worth - A WPRA Homecoming!!!!
Photos and Story by Kenneth Springer
2/2/10
World Champions... Kappy Allen, Marlene McRae & Kelly Kaminski

The stars are out in Fort Worth, Texas. Even on cloudy, cold Texas nights, barrel racing stars will be shining Jan. 22 thru Feb. 7 in Cowtown. Three-time NFR qualifier Sherrylynn Johnson, Henryetta, Okla., leads the long go round with the only sub 16 second run thus far of 16.95 run back on Wednesday night, Jan. 27th during the 8th performance.

The Fort Worth entry list looks like a WPRA World champion homecoming with eight gold buckles scheduled to run down the long Will Rogers Coliseum alley. Five of the eight World champs-Brittany Pozzi, Marlene McRae, Kelly Kaminski, Mary Burger and Kappy Allen-have already made their run. Pozzi and Burger are assured of a spot among the top 50 who will return for the first-ever-at-Fort Worth Semi Finals that starts at the Friday matinee on Feb. 5. The three World champs left to thrill the Fort Worth crowd are Martha Josey, up Sun. night Jan. 31, Sherry Cervi, up Wed. night Feb. 3, and Lindsay Sears up Thursday night, Feb. 4.

The WPRA wishes to thank our generous sponsors and asks you to please checkout their websites and learn about their product offers!
