Hello CA Circuit Members:

I Congratulations to all of you CA Circuit members who are running tough right alongside all of the NFR hopefuls who are calling California home for the Spring rodeo run. Many of these tough cowgirls are also entering our good CA Circuit WPRA approved jackpots, so please be sure to say hello and give them a warm California welcome!

Ann Scott is running tough as always, and is currently leading our CA Circuit Rodeo Standing with over $13,000 won so far. Vicky Cook is sitting 2nd with just under $8,000 won, Rachel Dice is 3rd with just over $5,500, and a big welcome back for Ruth Haslip who has hit the rodeo trail hard again and is sitting 4th in the Circuit with over $5,000 won so far. Our CA Circuit helped to produce the Fifth Annual Bud Light 3000 Barrel Race on April 15th in Red Bluff at the Pauline Davis Pavilion. As a result of our participation, all the profits were donated to our CA Circuit Awards funds, and we were able to add about $2,000 for our 2015 Awards!! Thanks so much to the Bud Light 3000 Barrel race for providing the opportunity for us to produce this great race and provide a major fund-raising project for our CA Circuit 2015 Awards! We ran 221 entries in the Bud Light 3000 4-D Open race, with 54 contestants carrying their times to our WPRA side pots. WPRA side pots included the WPRA Dodge Ram Sponsored $500 Divisional, WPRA $100 Junior, WPRA $150 Futurity and WPRA $150 Derby.

The ground was exceptional throughout the race, thanks to the Red Bluff Round-Up Committee.
Steve Smart was our amazing announcer, keeping things rolling. Thank you to Katie Pascoe for gracing us by singing the National Anthem! Jeff Freitas Video captured all the action and offered it on live webcast. You can order your own copy by contacting Jeff or Stacey Freitas at http://www.jfvideo.com. Order your 8 x 10‘s by contacting Rea of Light Photography; Sarah Rea at http://sarahrhea.net/ Our epic Bikini / Cowboy Race had 19 Bikini contestants and 7 Cowboy Racers and was a big hit. We auctioned our riders Calcutta style; offering the admission paying crowd an opportunity to win something. Nicole Thompson Design sponsored an original hand beaded Bikini, which was presented to the winner of the 2015 Bikini Race Domonique Penny riding Tootsie Roll. We paid three places in Bikini Race. All Cowboys received an award for participating and we paid two places. Riding a Lita Scott horse; Jake Rodriguez was the 2015 Champion.

Congratulations to the 2015 Bud Light 3000 1D Champion and the WPRA Ram Sponsored Side Pot Champ Chloe Hoovestal on Dox Jedo Honor winning the Shiloh Trophy Saddle, Renew Gold feed, Nancy-Su Herron Pedigree and more! We handed out checks and gave awards down to all who showed up for Awards that had placed in all 4D’s. Co sanctioned with WPRA, WCBRA, ACBRA, and NSBRA; offered members of each association another great race to add money, points, or race count for their individual year end finals.

The tickets sell for $10 each, and the winners of the Raffle Ticket Grand Prize will be NFR Gold Box Seat tickets for 2 for one night at the 2015 Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas! We will give additional prizes to additional raffle ticket holders when we draw for the winners at the WPRA CA Circuit Divisional Finals on November 7th. We are asking that all tickets be sold and raffle ticket money turned in to Kaci Shaffer by September 15th this year. Ticket money received AFTER the September 15th cutoff date will have a $50.00 late fee assessed. We are assessing a “late “ this year because we need this money as soon as possible so that we can use it to purchase awards for each of our CA Circuit Finals races.
