First and foremost, the WPRA Board of Directors hopes you and your family had a happy, healthy and good 2011 and we wish you an even better 2012.

In looking back, 2011 continued to be an exciting time for the WPRA. We saw an increase in the number of barrel racing entries at our approved rodeos and we continue to approve jackpots to provide you with more opportunities to compete and achieve your goals.

Regarding the 2012 rulebook, we apologize but our rulebook printing has been delayed. Our new target date for mailing it out is the 1st week of February. The reason for the delay is because much time has been spent by the Board and other individuals trying to clean up parts of it, improve language where we can, and work through the many proposals sent in by you our members and your Board.

Some rules do need to take affect shortly. With that in mind the following will take effect with rodeos that start as of February 1, 2012.

- Updated dress code: Rule 9.2.3 will read as follows- Long sleeved shirts that are collared and have either buttons or snaps on the front of the shirt, jeans without holes, western boots and western hat must be worn at all rodeo performances and slack. Contestant's appearance must be neat, clean and professional. Any contestant whose appearance is deemed unprofessional will be fined. The fine will be $100.00. Only a WPRA Board approved dress code ground rule will supersede.

Once the various people working on the edits complete their work, the outcome of all proposals and edits will be listed on the WPRA web site.

Again the two items listed above, will become effective as of rodeos beginning on February 1.
