Held as a four performance bracket. There will be four brackets of rodeos that will account for the first 16 performances. The top five money winners (twenty total) in each bracket will advance to a two performance semi-finals ( 10 contestants in each perf) held during the 17th & 18th perfs. There will be an extended grace period for those contestants who are entered and meet qualifications to change preferences Jan 4, 3-5pm. No multi-event buddy groups will be accepted.
The 12 contestants in all events that are placed in the first bracket (the first 4 performances) will be allowed to trade with contestants in other brackets between 8:30am-12:00pm on Jan 31. (due to possibility of qualifying for the finals at Fort Worth. The 30 hour replacement rule will be in effect. Re-entries will be accepted for available positions on Jan 28 2-4pm. No previous times or scores will be carried forward. If there is a tied, the tie will be broken by any go-round winner in the bracket, it still tided; it will be broken by any single fastest time. If still tied, the tie will be broken based on the 2010 NFR Standings coming into the rodeo. Positions in the semi-finals will be by random draw. The qualifiers for the two semifinals performances will be seeded as follows: Semi-final 1 (17th perf) includes: #1 Money Winner from Bracket 1, #3 Money Winner from Bracket 1, #5 Money Winner from Bracket 1, #2 Money Winner from Bracket 2, #4 Money Winner from Bracket 2, #1 Money Winner from Bracket 3, #3 Money Winner from Bracket 3, #5 Money Winner from Bracket 3, #2 Money Winner from Bracket 4, #4Money Winner from Bracket 4. Semi-final 2 (18th perf) includes: #2 Money Winner from Bracket 1, #4 Money Winner from Bracket 1, #1 Money Winner from Bracket 2, #3 Money Winner from Bracket 2, #5 Money Winner from Bracket 2, #2 Money Winner from Bracket 3, #4 Money Winner from Bracket 3, #1 Money Winner from Bracket 4, #3 Money Winner from Bracket 4, #5 Money Winner from Bracket 4. If still tied, the tie will be broken used 2010 NFR standings coming into the rodeo. No previous scores or times will be carried forward. The Finals (19th performance) will consist of 12 contestants (6 from each of the semi-final performances). The event champion will be determined by most money won at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. If there is a tie, the tie will be broken by single fastest time in the finals, if still tied; it will be broken by most money won prior to the finals (bracket plus semi-finals). If still tied, the tie will be broken by any go-round winner in the bracket. If still tied, the tie will be broken by 2010 NFR Standings.The actual competition position will be drawn randomly. Contestant will have 30 minutes after the end of the 4th go-round of their event to trade positions with another contestant from their bracket. Payoff: Payoff for the first 18 performances (including semifinals). No average, 1st $2,074.17, 2nd $1,555.63, 3rd $1,037.08, 4th $518.54. Payoff for the finals: 1st $12,445.00, 2nd $9,333.75, 3rd $6,222.50, 4th $3,111.25. Payoff for S.A.L.E. will be done through the WPRA Office. Any contestant who turns out of S.A.L.E without a valid release, visible will not be eligible to enter S.A.L.E in 2012 Any money won shall not count for Texas Circuit Standings or as a Texas Circuit rodeo count. Anyone using portable pens or tying overnight must park at the outdoor arena and space is limited. To help keep costs down, please muck out stalls in to the alley way prior to departure. Daily haul-ins are asked to rake up all manure into piles. All camping sites have water and power a limited number of RV spots are available with sewage service on a first-com/first-served basis. The camping fee is required of all who camp overnight, regardless if hook-ups are used or not. There is no dress code at any of the races. A horse can be entered in a race only once no sharing.
