CO-SANCTION/PERMIT FINALS DATE CHANGED TO SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13, SAME PLACE SAME TIME.
Due to a scheduling conflict at the Sundance Feedlot in Bakersfield the CA WPRA Co-Sanction / Permit Finals will be held on Sunday November 13 instead of Saturday November 12. We apologize for any problems this may cause, but it is out of our control. The top 12 Permit Holders (including all money won at rodeos and co-sanction events) plus the top 12 card holders (with money won only at co-sanction events) are qualified to compete. The Finals race will have 24 contestants, and $1,000 added money. A saddle is awarded to the winner of the Finals race. Buckles will be awarded to the year-end Permit Champion and the Year-End Co-Sanction champion. Money you win at the Finals will count toward the final year-end standings. Beautiful jackets and additional wonderful prizes will be awarded to each of the top 12 Permit holders and the Top 12 Co-Sanction contestants. We will have our annual Silent Auction fundraiser for the Circuit at this race, so if each of you could bring one item to sell, that would be really appreciated.
The Final Permit Standings and the Final Co-Sanction Standings have been updated and are on the Circuit website. If your records do not agree with the standings as listed, contact Marilyn right away so that we can resolve any differences.
ENTRIES FOR THE PERMIT AND CO-SANCTION FINALS ARE ON SAT. OCT 29
As is years past, Marilyn Peterson will be taking entries for the Co-sanction and Permit Finals. Entries will be taken on October 29, 2011 8am-10am and then again in the afternoon from 4pm-6pm. You must speak directly with Marilyn for a qualified entry, voice messages do not count. Her phone number is 805-441-9715. Remember - you can enter even if you didn’t qualify – someone qualified may not enter and you just may get in!
Important: You MUST ENTER in order to compete at the Finals. If you don’t enter, the next person down the list will be able to compete in your slot. You can pay your entry fees to me or Gina or Stacey Freitas when you arrive (and, of course, before you run).
Remember, you must have your NFR raffle tickets sold prior to competing at the Finals to qualify for your awards. For those of you who have not already sent in your money, please send it to Gina Graham right away. We need it to pay for all the awards we’ve gathered for you! If you don’t want to sell your tickets, then mail a check for $100 to Gina to collect your awards. The drawing for the 2 NFR seats will be held during the Co-Sanction/Permit Finals.
The Co-Sanction/Permit Finals will be augmented by additional barrel races that day as well, and you can carry the time you run at the Finals to each of those races. We will have an Open 4-D with $500 added. In addition we will have a “WPRA Members Only” race co-sponsored by Wrangler. This race will have a minimum of $750 added and will have a straight payoff. All money won at the 4-D and at the WPRA Members Only race will count toward your 2012 Standings – so get a jump-start on the year! For new members who haven’t bought their 2012 permit, we will accept applications at the Finals so the money you win over the weekend will count toward your 2012 standings.
If any of you have sponsors that would like to donate product for any of our awards, they would be much appreciated and well represented at our Finals. We also need Buckle sponsors -- $300 will provide sponsorship for one of our great award buckles. Please give Gina a call for more info.
