2010 WPRA WORLD FINALS

Ground Rules

I. 2010 WPRA WORLD FINALS FORMAT GENERAL
A. Rounds
1. The 2010 WPRA World Finals Rodeo Barrel Racing events (Card Holder/Permit Only/Junior) shall
consist of 2 long rounds, a short round (with the top 30 average times from the 2 long rounds taken
back to the short round). The fastest 3 run average determines the 2010 WPRA World Finals Champion.
This is a 2D format, with a 1⁄2 second split.
B. Entry Fees
1. $250 EF + $100 Stall Fee* + $20 Office Charge**
2. $50 Gold card sidepot (100% payback on the sidepot)
* Shavings not included. They are available on site. No outside shavings permitted
** All World Finals Contestants: there is a $20 office charge for entering your first World Finals event
and a $10 charge for the 2nd/3rd/4th/etc events entered.
C. Payoff
1. There is a 70/30 split between the Ds with 100% of the added $ and 75% of entry fees going into
the purse.
2. Purse split: 30% to each long round, 10% to the short round and 30% to the average.
D. Entry Process

1. We will have 2 options available for entry starting September 1, 2010. You will be able to enter online directly from the WPRA Site or by calling the WPRA Office. Entries open September 1, 2010 and entries close September 17, 2010.
World Finals and 4 D Entries Open Thursday, 9/2/10 at 9:30 AM MT... Enter Online or by Phone
World Finals entries and 4 D entries will open beginning Thursday, 9/2/2010 through Friday 9/17/2010.
Phone entries will be taken Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM- 4:30 PM MT by calling the WPRA office at 719-447-4627. (This week phone entries will start on Thursday, 9/2/2010.)
Online entries will be taken 24/7 from 9:30 AM MT on Thursday, 9/2/2010 thru 9:00 PM MT on Friday 9/17/2010. The link will be available right here on Thursday.
WPRA Members: If you enter online, you will be required to supply your WPRA membership number. At that point, you may enter the WPRA World Finals events and the 4 D jackpots. Entry for the Roping jackpots will not be online but will be taken on site.
Non-WPRA Members: You are welcome to enter the 4 D jackpots online or by phone. When entering online, you may choose to enter a co-approval association's card # or scroll right down to the 4 D jackpot entry area. If you have any questions, please call the WPRA office at 719-447-4627.
E. Payment Information
UPDATED
1. Entry fees, office charges and stall charges must be paid when you enter.
There are no late entries for the World Finals Card Holder, Gold Card Side Pot, Permit only, or Junior events.
2. You may enter the Open 4-D races by phone and online. Late entries will be taken on site and
have a 1 time $30 late charge
F. Release/Turn Out
1. There are no refunds of any kind. No releases or turn outs for the World Finals events.
G. Contestants Requirements
1. Contestants will be required to take Victory Laps, sign autographs, etc.
2. World Champions and Event Leaders must attend VIP meet and greet, as posted at rodeo office.
3. Contestants must be present after the final round on Sunday, October 17, 2010 to receive
2010 World Finals awards and 2010 World Standings awards if applicable. If not present
the awards are forfeited and go to the next person in order. Dress code required.
4. When you are called you must be ready. There are 3 calls after which you will be disqualified.
II. 2010 WPRA WORLD FINALS FORMAT CONTESTANT QUALIFICATIONS
A. All 2010 and 2011 WPRA Card/Permit/Junior members will be eligible to compete at the 2010
World Finals
B. Permit holders may use their permit to enter the Permit only race, Futurity/Derby and Roping events
C. You must be current with your financial responsibilities to the WPRA

2010 WORLD FINALS FORMAT- ROUNDS
A. Card Holder/Permit Only/Juniors
1. There will be 2 long rounds and a short round.
2. Round one will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 not before 8:00 AM in the Amy Countryman Barrel
Arena. Refer to schedule for order of events and updated information .Round one draw will
be random.
3. Round two will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 not before 8:00 AM in the Amy Countryman Barrel
Arena. Refer to schedule for order of events and updated information. Round two will be run in the reverse
order of the first round.

4. Short round will be the top 30 average times from rounds one and two. It will be held on Sunday,
October 17, 2010 10:00 AM in the Amy Countryman Barrel Area. Short round position draw will be #
slowest to fastest, i.e. for 30-1.
A. Drag after every 5 runs
B. CARRY OVER TIMES
1. There ARE carry over times from the WPRA World Finals barrel race to the Open 4-D Barrel Race.
C. ARENA PRIORITY
1. If a contestant is scheduled to compete in both the Amy Countryman Barrel Arena and the Roping
Arena in separate competitions at the same time, the Amy Countryman Barrel Arena will take precedent
and every effort will be made to move contestants in the Roping Arena. It is a Contestant’s responsibility
to notify WPRA World Finals office/staff before hand of the conflict so Arrangements can be made.
D. Filling Your Permit at the 2010 World Finals
1. Only $ won in the Permit Only barrel race counts towards filling your permit
2. If you fill your permit while at the 2010 World Finals, you may continue to compete BUT any $ won
in excess over the $1,000 permit limit does not count toward your WPRA card.
E. Any $ won in the 2010 World Finals Cardholder race or Gold Card sidepot will count toward
the 2011 World Standings. For the 2011 rodeo season, 2010/2011 NFR Standings will be used
for qualification rodeos
F. WPRA Rule Book Knowledge
1. Contestants are responsible for having knowledge of applicable WPRA rules, and procedures in
events entered. These Ground Rules supersede any other rule contained in WPRA RULEBOOK.
G. Health Certificates & Coggins
1. All contestants (both in and out of state) are required to have current Coggins and Health Certificates.
Contestants without a current Coggins and Health Certificate will be turned away.
2. Your are REQUIRED to bring your current Coggins and Health Certificate will to the office when
checking in.
H. Your Financial Responsibilities
1. All bills associated with the WPRA World Finals must be settled with the WPRA Accountant (who
will be at the Finals) before you leave Lancaster facility. Failure to settle your bills will result in a $50
service charge.
I. WPRA Junior World Title
The Junior
World title will be awarded to the contestant who has
won the most combined money
throughout the year and at the Finals event.
