COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 21, 2023) – The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) is excited to officially welcome Tito’s Handmade Vodka as the Official Vodka Sponsor of the WPRA and the presenting sponsor for the 2023 Wrangler National Breakaway Roping (NFBR) at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center, Dec. 5-6.

The NFBR returns to Las Vegas for the third consecutive year to crown a world champion. The event will begin daily at 2 p.m. PST with doors opening at 1 p.m. PST daily.

“We are honored and excited to bring Tito’s Handmade Vodka on board as our presenting sponsor for the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping,” said Jimmie Munroe, WPRA President. “Similar to the founders of the WPRA, Tito’s Handmade Vodka’s founder Tito Beveridge kept persevering to build his company from the ground up. That type of perseverance has served both entities well in their endeavors and we are looking forward to growing this sponsorship.”

Currently the fastest-growing event in the sport of rodeo, women’s breakaway roping has been growing steadily in professional rodeo since 2020, when the WPRA and PRCA partnered to introduce the event into more rodeos across the United States and Canada. Although the WPRA crowned its first breakaway roping world champion in 1974, it wasn’t until the 2020 NFBR that it was a featured event in conjunction with the National Finals Rodeo. Held in Arlington, Texas that year, Jackie Crawford was crowned the world champion. In 2021, the NFBR took place in Las Vegas and was won by Sawyer Gilbert. Last year the event was held again in Las Vegas, with Martha Angelone taking home the title.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka is America’s Original Craft Vodka. Founded in the mid-nineties by sixth-generation Texan, Bert “Tito” Beveridge, Tito’s started as Texas’ first legal distillery and has grown into a great American success story. Through years of grit, determination, and simple, great drinks, the beloved vodka has stayed true to its roots, sticking to what they’re good at: one single product, vodka-flavored-vodka.

“2023 is an exciting year as we kick off our sponsorship of the WPRA,” said Ray Proctor, Vice President of National Outdoor Lifestyle at Tito’s Handmade Vodka. “We look forward to creating one-of-a-kind experiences for fans and supporting the women in breakaway roping.”

The sponsorship with the WPRA officially started the second weekend of November at the WPRA World Finals in Waco, Texas. Tito’s Handmade Vodka was the presenting sponsor of the WPRA World Finals Award Presentations for all the barrel racing and roping classes.

The Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka features the top 15 WPRA breakaway ropers based on total money won during the regular season that concluded on September 30. This year’s event will payout $250,000 during the two-day, 10-round performance. The contestant with the most money won following the 10th round will be crowned the 2023 WPRA World Champion. The event will be livestreamed on Wrangler Network (www.wranglernetwork.com).
