Stalls: RV Campground and Equestrian Facility at the Pima County Fairgrounds, 11300 South Houghton Road in Tucson offers RV hook-ups, campsites, arena, stalls, feed and bedding, and trailer storage space. Full bar and restaurant on site, plus laundry, showers and business office facilities. RV site $30/day or $180 per week. Stalls are $25/day. Dry camping is $20/Day or $120 per week. Ground Rules: Trade Deadline: February 13 5:00pm MT. GB Approved for first event in slack. Limited to 105. Qualifications: 56 will be selected from 2022 qualification standings; 14 will be selected from 2023 pro rodeo standings based on winnings seven days prior to entries closing; 24 will be selected from 2022 WPRA/PRCA Turquoise Circuit Standings; 6 will be selected from 2023 WPRA/PRCA Turquoise Circuit standings based on winnings seven days prior to entries closing; 5 will be selected from 2022 WPRA Tour Standings. All contestants will be required to sign a contestant release form before they will be allowed to compete. All contestants will be required to enter the competition arena through the alley gate at a run. Fenced warm-up area and alley adjacent to timed event chutes and header and heeler boxes shall be considered part of the arena and be subject to member dress code. Format: One (1) round + Finals; top twelve (12). Ties will be handled per rule 10.3.5.5. Will run twelve (12) contestants in each performance. Slack: First section of slack will be Monday, February 20 at 8:00am. Barrels will be run first with twenty-three (23) runs. Second section of slack will be Tuesday, February 21 at 8:00am. Barrels will be run first with twenty-two(22) runs. The "30 hour replacement" policy will be in effect. Finals: If a contestant who qualifies for the finals notifies a turn out or visible injury at least 3 hours prior to the short round, Procom will contact the next qualifying person and continue to do so until they find someone to take the position. Ground Rules and arena access rules will be posted in the Secretary's office.Tractor drag after 6. All notified turn outs and Releases from each performance and slack will be taken out of the draw after the out deadline. Positions will move up and be posted at the rodeo office before the rodeo begins. I.E. If you are number 9 and there are 2 releases prior to you, you will be draw number 7. Committee will drag at 6 or fewer. **any notified turnouts who do reverse their turnout will run at the end of their performance/slack with no additional dragging for them. In case of any malfunction of the electric timer for any reason, field flagger times will be used. No reruns will be given for any reason. Barrels may not be placed in the arena for practice at any time. Access to arena for contestants will be set by Arena Director. No warming up of horses in the arena during any paid performance. Contestants must wear back numbers when competing during paid performances. Contestants who park on Third Ave (east of Rodeo Grounds) or on private property along Third Ave may be subject to ticketing and/or towing at the vehicle owners expense. The Tucson Police Department will cite anyone who leaves refuse (including manure, hay, trash, etc.) along Third Ave. on either public or private property. The Tucson Rodeo Committee will tow any vehicle parked in an unauthorized area on the Tucson Rodeo.
