Format: Two Go + Finals(12). The first go will be held during slack each morning, with the top 10 fastest times advancing to the performance that night and the remaining contestants not advancing will run their second go after the barrels second go in slack that morning. Finals will be August 6 starting at 8:00pm and run positions will be random draw. Ropers will enter the timed event chute at the south end of the arena prepared to set up and rope. Ropers will exit the north end of the arena. Ropers should be prepared to rope within 45 seconds after entering the gate. Contestants must take their calf within 45 seconds of receiving the "all clear" from the designated judge. Time will not start until arena is clear and calf is loaded with the neck rope on. Except in the case of mechanical failure or problem with the competition animal in the timed event chute in the opinion of the judges, calf will be released upon reaching 45 seconds if contestant has not called for him. If a contestant who qualifies for the finals notifies a turn-out, or visible injury release through Procom, the contestant with the next highest ranking in the average may be placed in that available position.
