COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – In order to be the best, it is important to train with the best – not only with the best people but with the best products in the business. And when those products are some of the most affordable in the market, it is just the cherry on top.
That is where WPRA’s newest partner, 7K Roping comes into play. A family-owned business since 2006, Sandy and Shannon Stephens, have developed not only some of the most affordable products but they are among the most multi-functional team roping, breakaway roping and calf roping training tools on the market today. In fact, 7K is the Official Roping Training System of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association.
“We are honored to partner with 7K Roping who is committed to the support and advancement of the roping and rodeo industries while staying true to the western family lifestyle,” stated Hannah Miller, WPRA Partnership and Special Events Manager. “The first few months of this partnership have been great, and we look forward to growing the relationship to provide even more opportunities for our members.”

7K Roping products are endorsed by some of the best in the business including 2022 WPRA World Champion Martha Angelone, three-time world champion Erin Johnson, 2023 National Finals Breakaway Roping average champion Cheyanne McCartney and 2021 WPRA Breakaway Roping Rookie of the Year Madison Outhier. Their products are proudly made and shipped from the Lone Star State of Texas.
“We’re proud that the WPRA has chosen to partner with 7K Roping and feel that our missions are aligned,” said Sandy Stephens, owner of 7K Roping. “Just as the WPRA continues to raise the standard of competitions for women in rodeo, we strive to provide equipment that helps all levels of ropers elevate their game to the fullest potential.”
In addition to being the Official Training System of the WPRA, they were also a partner of the 2023 WPRA World Finals in Waco and the National Finals Breakaway Roping in Las Vegas. In fact, during the WPRA World Finals they sponsored the breakaway roping event and presented the average champion, Willow Wilson, with a brand new 7K Something Horse & Calf Sled.

Wilson of Baggs, WY, is looking to make more headlines in 2024 as she also won the year-end title in the Mountain States Circuit to earn a berth to the NFR Open in July. Her new 7K training system will come in handy in preparing for that event as well as the rest of the season where she also competes in PRCA rodeos as a team roper with her husband Todd.
Be sure to keep an eye on the 7K Roping WPRA ProRodeo Breakaway World Standings throughout the year to see who will be in the top 15 come the end of October and qualify for the 2024 National Finals Breakaway Roping.
